Know what's so frustrating for me?

These T.H.E. microphones perform beyond
the level of prosumer equipment...

So how can you hear just how good these mics sound?

Unless you are one of few, your equipment limits what you hear when it comes to auditioning these microphones... trust me... read on.

Only in the past few years have I realized this painful truth myself ... most gear I listen to after hearing a truly stellar system to me is only mid-fi... and, don't get me wrong.... I'm sure you are, as I was too, happy with your gear! I was happy too, until that is, I heard what a true state of the art system can do with these mics!

Only then did I realize something was amiss with my gear!

I stumbled across this revelation, I didn't plan it! And if you are, like me now, hearing the difference between the prosumer chain store stuff and product of truly high fidelity, these Taylor Hohendahl Engineering microphones are an excellent 'item' to put on your list in your quest for state of the art reproduction. If you don't get the source captured right, nothing else you do on down the chain will regain what's not there!

Is it just me who thinks this? Have a read of this customer's eye... ear opening experience

More frustration:
A well meaning high level manager / buyer of a well respected music store chain told me the Taylor Hohendahl Engineering KA-25A microphone sounded a bit harsh...

HARSH ?!!! ... I was dumbfounded...

The KA-25 is NOT harsh, NO... NOT EVER, NEVER... !!!!

The KA-25 is revealing.... of everything... and here's a perfect example of a guy that's hearing something not right and believing it's this microphone!

His related GEAR let him down... BIG time....

So you have excellent gear and are searching for truly excellent microphones and want to hear some samples of just what these T.H.E. mics can do!!

"Sean, send me a CD, will you?"

A CD...

But Sean, this is our standard of high resolution recorded music isn't it...?

Here's the rub... CD's don't perform to the level of these T.H.E. microphones, NO WAY!
Oh, on CD these mics will sound good, GREAT even, just not SUPERB as they DO SOUND!!

Ever since I heard a PROPERLY recorded SACD on reference level equipment have I not wanted to critically listen to CD...

Listening to CD for me now is the visual equivalent of looking at the outside world through a screen door. Play the SACD layer of the same music and the screen door just slides out of the way!

But most are limited to a CD player as their high resolution source and we feed it's output to our mid-fi source, (great sounding CD players out there? Yes, I have one and it does a great job with CD, but it's not SACD which my player plays too) playing through mid-fi amplification, interconnects, speaker wire and speakers, (yes everything in the chain is important) and we want to judge the sound quality of high end microphones?

This is an exercise in futility in so many ways... top that off, there's a good chance you'll be misguided by your equipment as my music store contact was and... this is what's frustrating for me!
